Service
Service and community engagement are central to Mercer’s Clinical Psychology Program. Students collaborate on projects that combine clinical practice, research, and public health outreach to promote mental wellness and equity.
- The Resiliency for Intergenerational/Historical Stress and Trauma (RESIST) Lab
In partnership with churches serving predominantly Black congregations, students work alongside faculty to assess community needs, develop tailored mental health literacy workshops, and provide consultation and support for ongoing mental health initiatives. - Racial Stress and Trauma Program
This free, group-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) program focuses on racial trauma and stress. Students facilitate CBT groups that help participants process racial trauma, build coping and resilience skills, and share experiences in a validating, therapist-led environment. - TEAM (Time to Exercise and Move) Diabetes
In collaborations with other health profession programs, this interprofessional project provides students an opportunity to deliver telehealth-based physical activity interventions for adults with or at risk for Type 2 diabetes, using an approach called Brief Action Planning (BAP). - School Needs Assessment Project (SNAP)
Conducted in collaboration with the Georgia Psychological Foundation and Mercer’s College of Education, this project focuses on identifying and addressing the mental health needs of Georgia middle and high school students. Students gather data, design, and implement evidence-based initiatives to enhance student well-being and promote stronger mental health support across the state.
