Program Details
Location: Mercer University’s Atlanta campus and/or online
Enrollment term: Fall semester for MPH; Spring semester for DrPH
Length of program: 5 semesters for traditional MPH, or 3 semesters for accelerated MPH; 7 semesters for DrPH
Practical Application: The Department of Public Health advances research and community impact through several active research labs focused on health equity and population health. The Center for Evaluation and Applied Research collaborates with community organizations to conduct applied research, program evaluations, and training that enhance public health initiatives. The Chronic Disease Research Lab engages students in studies addressing health disparities and chronic disease prevention, providing experience in data analysis and evidence-based intervention design.
The Social Epidemiology Research Lab examines the social and environmental factors that affect health outcomes, with projects focused on maternal and infant health, chronic disease, and equity. Together, these labs provide students with hands-on research experience that informs practice and promotes healthier communities. Partners include community organizations, government agencies, nonprofits, educational institutions, and private companies.
